* The Birth of Hawk I remember early on as a child, dreaming of me soaring high over hills, mountains and streams. It was all so peaceful. I look back now to early adulthood and remember a lot of "coincidences" where birds of prey would come up and remind me of my boyhood dreams. People and subjects with the word hawk in them (Hawks, Hawker, Hawkins, etc.) and even lived on Hawkins Street once. The probability that I had a past life as a Native American also resonates with me. I thoroughly enjoyed the book "Return of the Bird Tribes" by Ken Carey. I live in an area where it is common to meet people like Running Deer, Doe, Star, Sunshine, Rainy, Monkey, Joy, Sunday . . . and found it rather amusing. The thought of a "Nickname" was the furthest thing from my mind. Recently, while working with my Spiritual Adviser on ways to take back my power, the subject of my name came up. The "Lloyd" stigma. My father is Lloyd II, I’m Lloyd III, my son is Lloyd IV and my grandson is Lloyd V. On my other side of the family there were 4 Lloyds. When she asked me to come up with a new name, it came like a bolt out of the blue. No thought was necessary. Hence, Hawk was born.An interesting side note: I used to call my son Hooter (wise like an Owl) in his teen years. Since then his friends all call him "Hoot."
